Barbara M. Day

Reunited with her husband Charles and daughter Nancy on March 30, 2020, Barbara passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Loving mother of William Day, Steven (Nancy) Day, Ellen (John) Taylor and the late Nancy Potkay. Proud grandmother of Heather (Andy) Mott, Steven (Kelly) Day and Lauren (Steven) Dale. Further survived by great-grandchildren Hannah, Brendan, and Lily Mott, Madelyn, Nolan and Jacob Day and Penelope Dale and other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Weck) Kinnally, father, John Kinnally, her sisters Eileen (Don) Maly and Dorothy (Gene) Preuss and brother John (Mary Fran) Kinnally. Barbara grew up on the east side of Milwaukee, attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High school. In June 1950 she married Charles Day and together they shared 65 plus years. In 1968 Barbara returned to school to become a licensed practical nurse and worked at the former Milwaukee County Hospital. In her younger years, Barb was an avid reader, enjoyed mystery movies, loved doing crossword puzzles and followed numerology and horoscopes. She liked doodling and enjoyed ceramics, crochet, needlepoint, other craft activities and playing cards with her family. She enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren for many years. In her senior years, she loved going to the Beulah Brinton Center to play cards and visit with her friends. Barb’s family sends a special thank you to all the social workers, doctors, nurses, care givers and friends of Lutheran Home, Seasons Hospice, Clement Manor Adult Day Care, St. Ann’s Center Adult Day Services, Synergy HomeCare, Hands That Help LLC and Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center for their loving care to Barbara. They made a real difference in her quality of life. Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/sewi) in Barb’s name are appreciated. Cremation was held. Memorial Visitation and Service will be held in the near future when we are free to congregate. Inurnment at Forest Home Cemetery to follow Services.
