Carl E. Hosig

Passed away February 6, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Preceded in death by his ever-lovin’ wife Ellie of 59 years. Father of Rick, Cathy, Cindy (Darrell) Gerritson and Sue (Chris) Brown. Grandpa of Jenny (Matt) Nelson, Nicole (Brian) Pederson, Eric (Jenny) Hosig, Matthew (Chiara) Dublinski, Kelli (Peppe D’Alberti) Dublinski, Gage and Sloan Gerritson, Jason and Nicholas and Tyler Brown. Great-grandpa of Hailey, Kyle, Connor, Logan, Brittany, Emily, Blake and Ava. Brother-in-law of Richard (Carol) Franceschetti, George (Debbie) Franceschetti and Joan Pero. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carl is also preceded in death by his parents Carl N. and Gladys Hosig, sisters Barbara (Robert) Best and Lois (Leo) Drayna, sister-in-law Dorothy DeSautel and brothers-in-law Lawrence and Louis Franceschetti. Carl, affectionately sometimes called “George” and “Baka” by his loved ones was a hardworking, loving, devoted family man who stopped at nothing to provide for his family. Having more than one job, 6-7 days a week for basic needs but also so his children could participate in their numerous activities and provide the best education. He had a great work ethic he passed down to his children. He loved his four-legged furry family often sharing his food and treats…and how they loved him too! He took pride in serving in the US Marines, receiving an award as an expert rifleman. He loved to make EVERYONE smile (no matter who he came in contact with)…was sort of easy since he was so charming! Mom accused him of being a flirt but we all knew better…he was just that genuine. He showed up for his children and grandchildren’s events always cheering them on and to show his support. He was always so proud! He told his children they could always come home, no matter what – he always tried to understand, never to judge. Going forward, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his ever-lovin’ wife and our Heavenly Father. We love you more than we can say and will miss you every day!
