Edward V. Korducki

After a long and full life, Edward Valentine Korducki passed away on June 27, 2018 at the age of 90. Ed was born and raised on the South Side of Milwaukee, graduated from Pulaski High School in 1945, and served as a Corporal from 1946 to 1948 in the U.S. Army. He attended Marquette University and in 1950, married his one true love, Rita Sanders. Ed was preceded in death by Rita and is survived by his 10 children: Stephen (Joyce), Marcia, Thomas (Nephtali), Barbara (Robert), William (Kristie), Robert (Catherine/Deb), Edward (Helen), Janet Scragg (Ernest), Laura Jackson (Matthew), and David (Jennifer). He is further survived by 15 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons with one on the way, and his brother, Raymond (Ruth), sister-in-law Mary; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, cousins, and other relatives. Edward is also preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, grandson Christopher, brothers Stanley, Arthur, and sister Mary. While raising 10 children Ed kept himself busy in supporting his children’s activities such as the Cub Scouts and the Lake Band of Milwaukee. He was active in Toastmasters, and was a member of St. Roman’s Parish. Ed loved spending time with his friends, keeping a monthly Friday Sheepshead game with fellow Pulaski High School alumni active for sixty years. He loved to play golf, serving as head of the Whitnall Park and Oakwood senior golf leagues and in 1999 he achieved a golfer’s dream of a hole-in-one, TWICE! Ed retired from the City of Milwaukee after 27 years at the Department of City Development. During his tenure, he worked behind the scenes to secure funding and approval for major projects such as the Marquette campus expansion and the modernization of Summerfest grounds and facilities. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fisher House Wisconsin Foundation at Zablocki VA Medical Center would honor Ed. Visitation will be held Monday, July 9 at the Rozga Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:45 AM then to the BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT for the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
