Joseph Immanuel Torres-McChristian

Passed away on June 19, 2024 at the age of 26 years. The beloved son of Tonya (nee Torres) Duke and Noel McChristian. Loving fiancé of Kimberly Schmitz. Devoted father of Lilliana Torres. Cherished brother of Adam Torres, Ashley Torres, Kristin, Jalen McChristian, Tiana Torres, and Noelle McChristian. Grandson of Joe Torres and Marguerite Lettner. Joey was a very loving, give the shirt of his back kind of person. He was incredibly goofy with an infectious smile and laugh that lit up a room. A true life of the party. He was naturally gifted at (almost) everything. And if he wasn’t, he would strive to be the best. The love of Joey’s life was his daughter, Lilliana. He would do anything to make sure his pretty girl was taken care of and happy. She lit up at the sound of his voice when he would walk through the door. Even in just the three short months of Lilly being earthside, there was no denying the daddy daughter bond they created. Joey strived to be the best he could be because of his daughter. He was very artistic, with a strong love for music. Joey never was without an AirPod in his ear. He loved playing his guitar and hanging out with friends recording. Whenever uncomfortable, he would turn to music for comfort. Always walking around singing. And in hard times, he had a pen in his hand writing new lyrics to sing. He loved so many kinds of music, which made it easy for him to use it as a bond with so many people. Joey’s dream was to be a barber. He attended barbering school at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness. After not being able to finish school, he tried many different career paths. Joey ended up falling in love with painting and ended up working at Lucky Otter Painting. He was so happy he had found something he was good at doing and enjoyed all at the same time. The love of basketball was undeniable in Joey’s life. From going to the court to watching it on TV, it was one of his favorite things to talk about. Joey always needed to make sure he had the perfect basketball shoes to win on the court with. He loved to go to the park with his daughter so she could watch him play. And even only being a few months old, he loved to show her how good he was. If Joey wasn’t creating music or playing basketball on his off days, you would normally find him watching anime or playing his PlayStation. Even while watching his daughter, he would make sure she enjoyed anime and watching him play his game. Joey will be so incredibly missed. There isn’t another soul that could fill the void of him leaving. But, with so many amazing memories, we can all feel comfort. And now with an army of amazing people behind his daughter, she’ll never forget how great her daddy was and how much he loved her. Memorial Visitation Friday, July 19 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the ROZGA-WALLOCH CHAPEL followed by the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
