Karen A. Gesinski

Karen A. Gesinski (nee Ignaszak), "Ma Karen", "Mrs. G", 78, entered Heaven on Friday January 24, 2025. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Donny. Loving mother of Terry, Christine, and Lori Becker (Pete Jankowski). Loving mother-in-law of the late Rob Becker. Cherished grandma of Emma Gesinski-Rose, Robby and Josh Becker. Sweetest daughter of the late Edward and Estelle Ignaszak and daughter-in-law to the late William and Aggie Gesinski. Treasured sister of the late Ronald Ignaszak, Robert (Suzanne) Ignaszak and Fr. Michael Ignaszak. Dearest aunt of David and Vicki Ignaszak. Long time dear friend of Penny Lewandowski. Further survived by other extended family and friends. Karen, a proud Packers owner, loved to watch football games, especially the Packers, Badgers, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Karen had many hobbies. One of which was sewing. When her daughters were little, she made them dresses every Easter and Christmas. Over the years she gifted many family and friends with scarves, pillows, tote bags, placemats, and other items. She also made doggy pillows for her furry friends. Over the years she donated many blankets, scarves, and mittens to community organizations serving those in need. One of the many things Karen will be remembered for is her delicious cooking and baking. Her beautiful decorated cakes were enjoyed by many and her Christmas cookies were a wonderful holiday treat. In the summer, she loved to garden. Her garden included a variety of vegetables and flowers, including mums which were her favorite flowers. Reading and sharing the love of reading with others was another hobby of Karen’s. From taking her children and grandchildren to the library when they were young to attending classes at the library more recently. The family would like to thank the Froedert Hospital staff, especially the staff from the ER, 5SE, 3W, MICU, 4NW, CVICU, 7NT, and 8CFAC. We appreciate the team effort and the kindness shown to Mom and our family throughout her time in the hospital. Thank you also to Horizon Hospice for making Mom’s final days peaceful. In addition, we would like to thank the team of doctors - Dr. Ryhner, Dr. Nangia and Dr. Nfor – who watched over Mom for many years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at ST. JOHN PAUL II Parish – ST. ALEXANDER CHURCH (1568 W. Holt Avenue, Milwaukee) with the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. (The Mass can be viewed on Live Stream on Facebook at St. John Paul II Parish MKE) Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
