Maria M. Silva

(nee Maria Elena Canales) Born into this world in 1946 and reborn into the Lord’s Holy Kingdom on February 5, 2023… Survived by her loving husband and lifelong friend Jose Luis Silva. Eldest daughter Magdalena Silva Hernandez. Son Jose Luis Silva Jr. Daughters: Veronica Silva, Julia Montoya Silva. Sisters: Julia A. Hernández Canales, Maria Virginia Canales, Juanita Jara Mercedes Villareal Isbel Ronco. Grandchildren: Angel, Marc-Anthony, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Sofia and Francisco. Maria was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and teacher of 30years. She had a big heart, was kind, a gentle soul, helpful and beautiful inside and out. She always gave the best hugs and loved to see you no matter her pain or how she was feeling. She always received everyone with a smile and hug. She loved to laugh and enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Wherever she was, we were happy. And wherever she was, was home for us. With her warm loving, caring, kindness, gentle touch and warm hugs. She taught for 30 years, loving what she did and who she took care of. She then taught and cared for children with special needs. She always pushed us to be our best, to never stop learning and to achieve all we could. She always taught us to be kind, gentle and warm. But to never let anyone walk all over us. She taught us o stand up for ourselves and our rights and to fight for others who didn’t have a vote or a voice. She loved her sisters. Being one of eight sisters and one brother, the reason she came to Milwaukee was to be the oldest sister and niece. But she had become an ESL teacher and one of the first for UMOS in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Then another aunt came up and there were three in Milwaukee with her niece. They would come to dances in Spanish where she met my father. Who at the time worked at Kenosha Memorial Hospital and how their fifty three years of marriage started. I was born in Kenosha and they then moved to Milwaukee. True love story and true unconditional love of her children. Visitation Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Rozga Funeral & Cremation Services - ROZGA-WALLOCH CHAPEL (4309 S. 20th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221) followed by Funeral Service at 5:00 PM. Private cremation to follow.
