Rosalia J. Hoffmann

Rosalia Josephine Hoffmann (nee Ohmes) Passed away June 5, 2020 at the age of 90 years. Rosalia was born in 1930, in Garden City, Kansas to Joseph and Josephine Ohmes. She leaves behind Michael K Hoffmann, her loving husband of 53 years; her daughter Priscilla L. (Bradley J.) Gollasch; daughter-in-law Yoshie N Hoffmann; grandchildren Darryl (Mychael Ellie) Hoffmann , Spencer Hoffmann, and Garrett Hoffmann; three sisters, Vivian (Ed) Wnuczek, Gladys (Joel) Piche and Caecilia (the late Jerome) Sarnowski ; three brothers Al (Pat) Ohmes, Frank (Barbara) Ohmes and George (Lori) Ohmes. She was preceded in death by her son, Marvin D Hoffmann; her parents Joseph and Josephine Ohmes; four brothers, Lawrence Ohmes, Joseph J. Ohmes, Sylvester Ohmes, and Anthony Robert Ohmes; and three sisters, Bernadine Herbert, Loretta Page, and Ramona Kippes. Rosalia graduated in 1948 from St. John’s School for the Deaf in Milwaukee. She enjoyed traveling and toured many different countries in Europe. In addition, she had an extraordinary passion for the visual arts. She received a diploma from Washington School of Art in 1949, and pursued photography and film as both a hobby and a way to record and memorialize her family, friends, and special events. On August 27, 1966 she married her beloved husband Michael Hoffmann. She worked as a dietary aid for St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee until the birth of her son, Marvin, in 1967. Rosalia was a member of the Greater Milwaukee Association of the Deaf (GMAD) and International Catholic Deaf Association (ICDA), and a member of St. Matthias Parish since 1976. She was an incredibly loving, selfless wife, mom, sister, aunt, grandma, and friend. Her gorgeous smile, affection, sense of humor, and zeal for life will never be forgotten. She will be sorely missed by everyone. Visitation Monday, June 15 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 4:00 PM at ST. MATTHIAS CHURCH (9306 W.
