June 30, 2021
With deepest sorrow, we announce that Ismael Eli Moreno, age 37, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed unexpectedly on June 30, 2021. Eli is survived by his sons, Ismael (Eli, Jr.) and Tion. His parents Jeanette “Julie” Moreno (Ivan Cervantes) and Ismael O. Munoz, his maternal grandmother Josephine Moreno, his sisters Alicia Munoz (Jose Juan Leon), Amanda Munoz and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Although only 37 at the time of his death, Eli’s strong personality impacted many people. His stubborn attitude and quick temper caught everyone’s attention but what will most be remembered was his beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Eli was a loving son and best friend to his mother, Julie. Regardless of what was going on in their lives, he knew his mom would always be there for him. Their relationship was unbreakable and only became stronger as the years went on. Eli was blessed with two boys, Eli Jr. (17) and Tion (6) – they were his entire world. No words can describe the love he had for his sons. They changed his life for the better, showed him a different love, a different way of thinking and living. They were his passion and inspiration. Eli cared about people in the purest way. Showing emotions wasn’t something Eli did on a regular and sometimes was hard for him to express but recently he was embracing those feelings, telling those closest to him how much he loved and cared for them. Eli’s life was not always an easy straightforward path but he always chose his family first. Eli didn’t ever fully understand that he was loved by so many. He had an energy that with even just one encounter with him, you would remember him for life. Eli was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jesse O. Munoz, his uncle Michael A. Moreno, his cousin Hector “Fatso” A. Torres, and aunt Goya Flores. Eli will continue to live on within us all through memories, and the laughs he forced us all to endure whether we were in the mood for it or not. We will remember him always.
