Betty "Boop" Collova

Betty “Boop” Collova, age 96, a devoted servant of the Lord and cherished member of St. Roman Parish was born to Eternal Life on January 8, 2025 after a courageous hospital battle with pneumonia. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI, Betty lived a full and meaningful life dedicated to her family, work, and church. Betty is preceded in death by her former husband and friend, Bob, and daughter Debbie. She is survived by her brother John "Butch"; daughters Maxine and Jan; son Joe; 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Nichole and Joshua; and her 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who will deeply miss her. Her lifetime achievements included: Chaplain for Federal Unit #203 of the American Legion Auxiliary. Member: Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Following her successful 25-year career with the US Postal Service, she embarked on another career as a cook, kitchen assistant, and food server for Milwaukee Public Schools for 10 plus years. Minister of Hospitality, Usher, Choir member, and delivery of Communion to shut-ins for St. Roman Parish. She also served at funerals and volunteered to regularly assist in cleaning the church. She worked many summers at St. Roman's Parish Festival, as well as the Wisconsin State Fair. Even while living in Arizona for the last 7 years of life, Betty was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed watching games and sharing her enthusiasm with family on game day. Above all, she cherished time spent with her loved ones, creating a legacy of love and connection that will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a reflection of her compassion for God's children and her desire to alleviate their earthly suffering.
