Gregory Sobczak

Gregory Sobczak passed away January 27, 2026 at the age of 70 at his home in Cudahy, Wisconsin. Greg was like the marshmallow you want in your s’more – crusty on the outside, but warm, soft and sweet on the inside. That gruff exterior housed a sentimental heart that was steadfast and generous. While his family owned a big space in that heart, there was still plenty of love to go around. He spent a lifetime helping people. Whether it was watering the plants while someone was out of town or standing in the sun with a torch and a scraper helping prep a friend’s home for painting, Greg would answer the call. The boxes and furniture he hauled while moving people would probably fill a small village, and the miles driven on the cars he fixed could conceivably span the country. For Mardi Gras, Greg would pick up a box of fresh Paczki from the bakery, and drive around delivering them for friends and family to enjoy. He volunteered with scout outings, school lunches and fund-raising events. He remembered birthdays and sent cards to co-workers and would bring treats for the staff at his doctor visits. As a police dispatcher, Greg was involved in helping people in crisis situations, and was grateful when he played a part in a positive outcome. Greg was a seasoned camper and adventurous cook. He enjoyed spoiling his grandkids, country music, Brewers baseball, Packer football, NASCAR and anything automotive. He always took pride in having a green lawn, a well-maintained car and having the right tool for the job. Preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Dorothy Sobczak, sister Sharon Luebke, in-laws Leonard and Alice Ziolkowski, Steven Schneider and Kevin Ziolkowski, Greg is cuddling with grandson Francis and turning wrenches with James Wright in God’s garage Greg is survived by his wife Karen, sons Jonathan and Zachary (Amanda), granddaughter Anita and grandson Harrison. Also, Thomas (June) Sobczak, Paul Sobczak, James Luebke, Chris Schneider, Keith Ziolkowski, Lila Ziolkowski, nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage blood donation, or a donation to your favorite charity that benefits children. Memorial Visitation Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00 – 10:30 AM at SACRED HEART OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH (3635 S.
