Gwen M Donahoe

Gwen M. Donahoe (nee Walker) passed away on December 19, 2023 after 62 years of sharing warmth, love, and laughter with all who knew her. Gwen was born November 27, 1961, the youngest child of Charles and Lois Walker. She grew up on the south side of Milwaukee and graduated from South Division High School in 1980. Gwen met Tony Donahoe at Grant Park, introduced through their shared friends. They were married on December 30th, 1980 in Shawano, Wisconsin. She was thrilled to gain a whole family of brothers- and sisters-in-law when she joined the Donahoes. Gwen loved traveling. Before having kids, she and Tony would travel by motorcycle, even making a trip up to Canada. After her children were born, the traveling mainly consisted of summer vacations piled in a van taking road trips across the midwest and going camping. Gwen dedicated her time to raising her two children, Michael and Jennifer Donahoe. She loved being with her family and her pets. At various points, she and her family had turtles, anoles, hamsters, and a pair of birds named Sonny and Cher. She was most fond of cats and was closest to Smokey and Molly. When her children were in school, Gwen took on the role of Marketing Director for the Milwaukee Youth Theatre. She enjoyed building relationships with people to help grow the Theatre and took pride in the opportunity to act as a mentor. Gwen is survived by her husband Edward “Tony” Donahoe; her mother Lois (nee Loppnow) Walker; her children Michael and Jennifer Donahoe; her sister Debbie Knepper; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Walker, and brother, Gerald Walker. She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed nothing more than gathering loved ones around a table to talk, joke, and play Yahtzee. Gwen should be remembered for her wit, her big heart, her irreverent sense of humor, and her ability to get along with just about anyone. She was very loved and will be missed. A Memorial Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 5 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the ROZGA-WALLOCH CHAPEL followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
