Rae Ellen Gorecki

Rae Ellen Gorecki (nee Smith) of Greenfield, WI passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2026 at the age of 68 years. She was born on January 17, 1958, to the late Howard and Dorothy (nee Hoskins) Smith in Milwaukee, WI. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Joseph Gorecki; her sister-in-law, Yvonne Gorecki; and her nieces and nephews, Karen Erickson, Ron (Melissa) Erickson, Robin Bodden, Kyle Smith, Terry (Rob) McDonald, Steve (Rhonda) Meyer, Kirstin (Bryan) Foy, and Joleen (Dewey) Clayton. She will also be dearly missed by her many great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, close friends, and her beloved dog, Buster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Dorothy Smith; her siblings and their spouses, Harlan (Doris) Smith, Sue (William) Erickson, and Deanna (Robert) Meyer; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Florian and Martha Gorecki; and her brother-in-law, Florian Gorecki Jr. Together, Joe and Rae built a life filled with love, laughter, and travel. Rae especially enjoyed planning their trips and taking in beautiful scenery along the way. She loved shopping, particularly when it meant finding something special for someone else, and she enjoyed helping prepare for family gatherings. Rae and Joe also treasured time spent with their longtime group of friends, affectionately known as “the Gang”: Karen Erickson, Karen Bunda, Joe Pisarek, and Mark and Sue Webber. Together, they celebrated birthdays, holidays, and many special occasions. More recently, Rae took up diamond art, creating pictures for family and friends. Above all, Rae treasured the people in her life and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she showed to those around her. Memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society are appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at ROZGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – ROZGA-WALLOCH CHAPEL.
