Sharon M. Duket

(nee Gaszak) Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Walter “Duke”. Loving mother of Debra (James) Luetzow, Cindy (Thomas) Dicks, Kim Duket and Kelli Jo Duket. Cherished grandmother of Richard Lopez, Jacob (Serenity) Wolfe, Matthew (Hallie) Dicks, Julie Luetzow, Sarah (Daniel Neely) Luetzow and Ann Luetzow. Great grandmother of Brayde, Isabella, Gianna and Lucia. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mabel Gaszak. Dear sister of David and the late Cheryl Gaszak as well as Jerome and Patti Gaszak. She is also survived by her stepsons Robert and Ronald Duket and their families as well as many other sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sharon lived in the Lincoln Village neighborhood of Milwaukee for most of her adult life where she was a long time parishioner of St. Josaphat Basilica. All four of her daughters attended St. Josaphat Parish School. In the late 1970’s, Sharon was recruited by the principal, Sr. Eileen Peters, FSSJ, to establish and manage a hot lunch program for the school. Sharon kept ties with the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, the religious community that staffed the school, throughout her lifetime. Sharon started the hot lunch program while her youngest daughter Kelli was still a student, and her eldest daughter Debbie was a teacher at the school. Her daughter Cindy worked with her in the lunch program for a time. She prepared and served lunches to her grandson Richie Lopez during his years as a St. Josaphat student as well as to his mom Kim when she was in the building as a parent volunteer. Sharon retired from her position at age 74. Earlier in her life Sharon also worked among family at the bridal shop of her Great Aunt Tess Lutke where her beadwork adorned many bridal, bridesmaid, and First Holy Communion dresses. Sharon enjoyed being active. Among the memories she often shared were: times spent at her parents’ cottage on School Section Lake; camping with family and friends in Wisconsin State Parks; travel to state and national lunch program conferences; trips both domestic and international; family celebrations and activities. She also enjoyed a good meal especially one shared with others. Sharon was a member of the International Order of Foresters and participated in many of their community charities in the Milwaukee area. She enjoyed the dances, dinners, bus trips and the camping outings that she took with them over the years. She was also a Women of the Moose. Sharon spent the last 5 years in Beaver Dam as a resident at Charleston House Assisted Living. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff for all the care they provided. We would also like to thank the care providers from Generations Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St Josaphat Parish School or the St Josaphat Basilica Foundation would be appreciated. Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4 at Rozga Funeral & Cremation Services - Rozga-Walloch Chapel (4309 S. 20th St, Milwaukee, WI 53221) from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM followed by Memorial Service at 12:30 PM (Livestream of the Service can be viewed here on Sharon's Tribute page at www.rozgafuneral.com). Inurnment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
